Doe Mask

November 2014

SOLD – see my other works on Etsy

This mask is made from a real whitetail doe face acquired from a taxidermist. It’s been carefully reshaped for a more natural appearance, and its contours allow it to be worn over glasses. The ears are flexible, and may move forward and backward as you turn your head. The cords are black deerskin, and the mask is complete with ears, though the ears have been damaged. It may also be worn on top of the head, headdress-style and additionally may be hung on a wall or otherwise incorporated into a totemic altar or shrine for devotional purposes.
