Bird in a Basket

See my current work on Etsy.

I found a lovely wicker and dried moss hanging basket at an antique shop a while back, waiting for someone to rescue it from the white-painted pegboard and glaring fluorescent lights. It’s much happier with a bit of indirect sun, as are its new companions. I lined the basket with more dried moss and lichens, then nestled two air plants (Tillandsia fuschii v. gracilis on the left and Tillandsia stricta on the right) on either side of a vintage hand-carved and hand-painted wooden chickadee. Across the front I attached a stem of rosemary from my own plant, preserved with glycerin, and at the top of the handle I added a dangle of little metal leaves.
